The courtroom docket heard Mr Barton claimed he had been assaulted when questioned by authorities who had been suggested by their neighbours that he had threatened to accumulate a pistol and shoot Mr Longley. Ms Berridge-Burley acknowledged: ‘One of the complainants, William Longley, acknowledged he was up a set of ladders making an attempt to restore residence home windows which had been falling out. ‘ As he climbed up the ladder he heard Mr Barton declare he was going to shove him off. Barton was fined £120 and wanted to pay £100 in compensation to Mr Longley plus £123 in costs and a sufferer surcharge. ‘This was a long-standing argument regarding parking,’ Chairman Tim Mann acknowledged, ‘No one owns the road and folks can park the place they choose.

I’m scared that if parking is tight, the parking is tight. ‘ Whatever you may think about those folks parked on the road, it is a public road, you do not have any right to it. Getting to court about this is so unneeded and wrong and causes problems for everyone involved.’
